    About the Business

Our client is a creative and branding agency based in East London, producing campaigns for major consumer brands. With around 60 staff across design, production, account management, and development teams, the agency depends on high-performance workstations, large file transfers, and seamless video conferencing. Their Shoreditch office had been home for six years, but they had outgrown the space and signed a lease on a significantly larger premises in Clerkenwell.

    The Challenge

The move itself was straightforward logistically, but the IT component was the part that kept the managing director awake at night. The agency could not afford to lose a single working day. Client deadlines do not pause for office moves, and several major campaigns were in active production. The existing IT setup had grown organically over six years. Network cabling ran through walls and ceiling voids with limited documentation. The server rack housed a mix of switches, patch panels, and a NAS unit that no one had fully mapped. Wi-Fi coverage was patchy and relied on consumer-grade access points placed wherever signal was weakest. VoIP phones were configured to the old address, and the internet circuit was tied to the Shoreditch premises. The new office was a blank canvas. It had power and basic Cat5e cabling, but nothing else. The agency needed a full network build, Wi-Fi deployment, workstation setup for 60 people, VoIP reconfiguration, and internet connectivity, all operational by 9am on Monday. Their previous IT contact had quoted three to four days of downtime. They came to us looking for a better answer.

    Our Solution

    Pre-Move Site Survey and Planning

We surveyed the new Clerkenwell office four weeks before the move, documenting every floor plate, power point, and cable run. A detailed relocation plan was produced covering network topology, desk assignments, hardware placement, and a minute-by-minute cutover schedule for the weekend.

    Network Infrastructure Build

We pre-installed structured cabling, new managed switches, and enterprise-grade Wi-Fi access points at the new site before move day. By the time the desks arrived, the network was already tested and live, with full coverage across every floor and meeting room.

    48-Hour Weekend Execution

On Friday evening, our team began decommissioning equipment at Shoreditch. By Saturday afternoon, the server rack, NAS, and all shared infrastructure were operational at the new site. Sunday was dedicated to deploying and testing all 60 workstations, monitors, peripherals, and VoIP handsets at their assigned desks.

    VoIP and Internet Cutover

We coordinated with the ISP to ensure the new leased line was active ahead of the move. VoIP numbers were ported to the new location with zero interruption. By Sunday evening, every phone was registered, tested, and ready for Monday morning calls.

    Monday Morning Verification

Our engineers were on-site from 7am on Monday to handle any teething issues. In the event, there were almost none. Staff arrived, sat down, logged in, and started working. Several commented that the network was noticeably faster than the old office.

    The Outcome

The entire relocation was completed within the 48-hour weekend window. When staff arrived on Monday morning, every workstation was set up, every phone was working, and the network was running at three times the speed of the old office thanks to the new structured cabling and enterprise Wi-Fi. Not a single working day was lost. Client deadlines were met without interruption, and the agency's production team was rendering and uploading large files faster than they ever had before. The managing director, who had expected at least some chaos, described the morning as eerily smooth. The feedback from staff was overwhelmingly positive. The Wi-Fi worked everywhere, including the basement kitchen and the rooftop terrace. Video calls no longer froze or dropped. The open-plan layout, which could have been a connectivity challenge, was fully covered by properly positioned access points. The agency now has a properly documented, professionally installed network infrastructure that will scale with them as they grow. And they have a standing relationship with an IT partner they know they can trust when the stakes are high.
